Collagen Boosting Treatments

Toskani Cosmetics chemical peels will be used for this treatment.

A chemical peel is a skin treatment technique used to improve and smooth the texture of the facial skin using a chemical solution which causes the dead, superficial skin cells to exfoliate and eventually peel off. The regenerated skin is usually smoother, lighter and less wrinkled than the older skin.

The types of chemical peel differ based on how deeply the chemical penetrates and what type of chemical solution is used. The peels in Toskani Cosmetics are superficial peels which are used to treat only the outer layer of the skin to gently exfoliate it. Superficial peel procedures do not take more than 30 minutes, this is the reason why they are called "lunch time peels". These treatments are used to improve the appearance of mild skin discolourations and rough skin.

The treatment needs to be discussed with the therapist as the choice of peel is client dependant and can vary accordingly.

Indications for Chemical Peels:

  • Acne or acne scars
  • Age and liver spots/solar lentigo
  • Irregular skin pigmentation (chloasma and melasma, photo-ageing)
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Rough skin and scaly patches

A course of 6 treatments every 2 weeks is recommended.

The delivery of a peel can be optimised by combining the treatment with Mesotherapy. The action of the peel exfoliates dead skin cells and unclogs pores allowing for improved penetration of the Mesotherapy cocktail.

Rose de Mer Sea Herbal Deep Peel is the natural way to renew and rejuvenate skin in 4-5 days!

The innovative combination of natural active ingredients including marine plants and corals rich in minerals, silicates, salts, calcium and vitamins work together to build a healthier looking skin on the inside and out. The natural ingredients exfoliate and "lift" the epidermis to promote easy shedding and removal of dead skin cells. It is a highly active peel featuring real corals to penetrate deeper into epidermal layers and prompt a natural rejuvenation process. The peel is appropriate for all ages and skin types, complexions and conditions including early- and advanced- aging skin, sun damage and discolouration such as hyperpigmentation, deep acne scarring and post-acne conditions.

Sea Herbal Deep Peel has a prolonged biological impact on the tissues and requires only one or two treatments for optimal results. With other peels, sometimes as many as six treatments are necessary to achieve the desired outcome. However active it is, the peel is absolutely safe and can be performed in any season of the year (unlike traditional chemichal peels). It is a 100% natural non-acid chemical-free peel, in other words, no chemicals are ever used!

Mesotherapy is a safe, natural therapy that does amazing things for your skin, your body and more. Mesotherapy can help you get rid of dark circles under your eyes, give your skin a new lease of life, banish cellulite and stimulate new hair growth - a real wonder-therapy!

This unique process involves performing series of superficial micro-injections to the epidermis - done by hand or with a meso-injector - which allows for transportation of nourishing substances including hyaluronic acid, vitamins, amino-acids, enzymes, minerals and plant extracts to the middle layer of the skin (mesoderm) where cell repair and growth occurs.

All the substances used naturally occur in the skin but degrade as our skin becomes older and stressed. Mesotherapy replaces these naturally occurring nutrients to create the effect you want to achieve. The great thing about Mesotherapy is that the components are natural and therefore, your system isn't having any "foreign" material introduced.

In addition, due to the mechanical action of a very fine needle to the skin, natural healing force of skin is activated to cure microscopic wounds by producing new collagen and elastin and stimulating cell metabolism.

Mesotherapy is commonly used for:

  • Skin Rejuvenation - moisturizes, fills, firms, tones and tightens sagging skin, reduces fine lines and wrinkles
  • Dry Skin Hydration - increases skin quality, rehydrates, boosts radiance and illuminates
  • Problem Skin - balances skin hormones and skin oil secretion, reduces break outs and scars, regenerates and improves texture
  • Hyperpigmentation - lightens dark circles and clears up age spots, melasma and freckles
  • Hair Loss (Alopecia) - stimulates hair growth by rejuvenating hair follicles

The delivery of Mesotherapy can be optimised by combining the treatment with a superficial peel. The action of the peel exfoliates dead skin cells and unclogs pores allowing for improved penetration of the Mesotherapy cocktail.

A series of 6-8 treatments at 1-2 week intervals is advised to achieve maximum improvement. After this, maintenance treatments every 1-2 months are recommended to maintain smoother, healthier and better hydrated skin.

One-off facial treatments are extremely popular for special occasions delivering instantly glowing skin radiance and giving an amazing base to apply make-up.

Treatment time takes approximately 1 hour and whilst not painful, it can be slightly uncomfortable so an anaesthetic cream will be applied. With minimal downtime – a little bruising and swelling at the site of the injection may occur but it will be short lived and should settle within 24-48 hours.

Biorevitalisation - is a form of mesotherapy that addresses the main causes of aging by injecting highly concentrated high molecular mass hyaluronic acid into the dermis of the skin together with nutrients such as vitamins, minerals and peptides to provide a deep, long-standing effect. Hyaluronic acid itself is an essential structural element of the human connective tissue responsible for maintaining skin hydration and youthful appearance.

Hyaluronic acid has a great hydrating power capacity as it binds 1000 times more volume of water than its own mass. When injected, hyaluronic acid boosts hydration within the skin and gives our skin cells called fibroblasts a wake up call, signalling them to start producing collagen and elastin again, which leads to skin renewal. In addition, the production of own hyaluronic acid is stimulated. Thus, the skin is not only moisturised, but also its properties are restored and strong lifting effect is obtained due to newly formed derma fibres. The skin becomes "fuller", gets a youthful glow, and the texture of the skin improves.

The injected hyaluronic acid remains in the skin for a long time, while this is not necessarily the case for the mesotherapy components. Biorevitalisation products tend to be more viscous than mesotherapy products, so they do a little bit of filling. However, biorevitalisers shouldn't be confused with fillers or Botox  as they don't contain anything that will change the structure of your face or affect muscle control.

Whilst Mesotherapy is highly effective at preventing aging, Biorevitalisation is most effective on those who are 30+ or who have more advanced signs of aging.

The results of Biorevitalisation are subtle but immediate, with the skin continuing to become smoother, brighter, and firmer over the days and weeks following your treatment. For the full effect of Biorevitalisation it is recommended to do a course of 3 treatments over 3-4 weeks, and then perform maintenance treatments every couple of months.

Mesotherapy & Biorevitalisation can be safely performed on all types of skins and colours. However, they are not suitable for people with:

  • Allergies
  • Roaccutane therapy or its equivalent (within the last 6 months)
  • Pregnancy and breast-feeding
  • Recent sun exposure
  • Inflammatory acne
  • Open wounds
  • Any kind of current skin infection or condition in the area desired to be treated
  • Radiation or chemotherapy treatment within the last year
  • History of keloid or hypertrophic scars or poor wound healing
  • Blood clotting disorders
  • Those on blood thinners or arrhythmia medications
  • Uncontrolled diabetes
  • Heart disease
  • Severe autoimmune disorders
  • Cancer

Skin needling, also called micro-needling therapy, is a minimally invasive skin rejuvenation procedure that involves the use of a device that contains fine needles. The needles are used to puncture the skin to create a controlled skin injury. Natural healing force of skin is activated to cure these microscopic wounds by producing new collagen and elastin fibres. In response to this stimulus, the skin plumps and thickens, which results in reduction of the appearance of scars, fine lines and wrinkles. In addition, each puncture creates a channel that provides a pathway for powerful skin rejuvenating solution to penetrate into the skin.

Most people will begin to see results after the very first treatment. Within a week or two, you will notice that your skin is smoother and more radiant looking, but the full effects won't be seen until a few months later.

A series of 6-8 treatments at 2-4 week intervals is recommended to achieve the desired results. The actual number of treatments required and their frequency will depend on the condition of the skin prior to treatment, and on how each individual responds to the treatments. After this, maintenance treatments every 1-2 months are advised.

Micro-needling is ideal for:

  • Dry, dehydrated skin
  • Poor elasticity
  • Wrinkles
  • Fatigue, sagging
  • Sun damage (photoaging)
  • Large pores
  • Scars (acne, chicken pox, surgical and burns)
  • Uneven pigmentation
  • Stretch marks

After the treatment, most people will experience redness and mild swelling, and there may be a minimal pin-point bleeding. The inflammatory reaction of the skin fades away significantly within hours from redness to pinkish that may last for 12-48 hours.

Contraindications to Micro-needling:

  • Allergies
  • Roaccutane therapy or its equivalent (within the last 6 months)
  • Pregnancy and breast-feeding
  • Recent sun exposure
  • Inflammatory acne
  • Open wounds
  • Any kind of current skin infection or condition in the area desired to be treated
  • Radiation or chemotherapy treatment within the last year
  • History of keloid or hypertrophic scars or poor wound healing
  • Blood clotting disorders
  • Those on blood thinners or arrhythmia medications
  • Uncontrolled diabetes
  • Heart disease
  • Severe autoimmune disorders
  • Cancer

Vampire Facial is an absolute fan favourite among celebrities. There are a number of reasons why celebrities are opting for it.

Vampire Facial is an amazing natural therapy that uses your own refined blood. A small amount of your own blood is taken and then refined using special equipment to concentrate the plasma and platelet content. This is then injected back into areas that need attention. The platelets in their concentrated form stimulate the release of proteins for healing that we call growth factors (these are naturally found in the body). It is these natural growth factors that stimulate and accelerate growth and repair in the body and when used for cosmetic purposes help fight the signs of ageing.

Platelet rich plasma, injected into specific areas of the skin, acts as a matrix that promotes your own collagen and elastin to grow, regenerates tissue, and thus acts to naturally smooth and tighten the skin.

It is important to note that the results will vary from person to person, but some of the most common benefits of the Vampire Facial include:

  • smoother and less obvious wrinkles and fine lines
  • firmer and smoother skin texture
  • reduced appearance of  scars
  • reduced appearance of pores
  • reduces appearance of sun damage and pigmentation
  • brightened under-eye area
  • increased overall volume and plumpness

You can get a Vampire Facial in a few different ways. Option one includes having plasma spread on your face, followed by micro-needling across your cheeks and forehead to help the skin absorb the plasma serum. Another option, called the Vampire Facelift, includes having plasma injected into your skin. The result being tissue regeneration similar to Vampire Facial, but at a much deeper level. Both options can use just the plasma or can be combined with pure hyaluronic acid to achieve desired result.

They beauty of Vampire Facial is that it is totally natural and totally your own. Side effects are incredibly rare and it simply works to stunning effect.

The results of Vampire Facial continue to get better over time. For best long lasting results, it's recommended that a course of 3 treatments is taken. Each treatment is 4-6 weeks apart to allow rejuvenation to take effect. The results can last around 18 months. Top-up treatments will maintain the results.

Vampire Facial is a great treatment for people who don't want to have synthetic neurotoxins or fillers injected.

Plasma Fibroblast Skin Tightening, also known as a "soft surgery", is a revolutionary skin tightening procedure that delivers results similar to surgery, with no scalpel, stitches or bandages and minimum downtime. It is a minimally invasive procedure with much lower risk and a more affordable price than actual surgery. The treatment is peformed using PlasmaPen™ - an extremely accurate hand held device.
PlamaPen™ uses plasma, an ionised gas, to tighten skin non-surgically. During the treatment, an electric arc, also referred to as plasma flash, forms between the tip of the treatment hand piece and the client's skin. Through a process called sublimation - which turns a solid directly into gas - the targeted tissues are instantly tightened, without causing damage to surrounding areas or deeper skin layers. In response to thermal disruption, the new skin generates more collagen and elastin fibres, essential proteins and growth factors that we lose as we age.

Plasma Fibroblast Skin Tightening is able to treat a number of areas non-invasively, including:

  • crows feet
  • eyelid and eye bag correction
  • hooded eyes
  • worry lines
  • forehead lines
  • nasolabial lines
  • wrinkles
  • marionette lines
  • saggy skin
  • stretch marks
  • scars
  • saggy neck/neck wrinkles

… and so much more!

Usually, the treatment lasts approximately one hour. The treatment can be slightly uncomfortable (equivalent to sun burn discomfort), requires only topical anaesthesia, and there are no cuts or blood. The plasma flash creates tiny dots (carbon crusts) upon contact. These superficial dots, which form in a symmetrical grid over the treatment area, are the part of the normal healing process, and will fall off 7-10 days post-treatment, revealing new pink skin beneath. Clients can return to their normal activities right away with minimal discomfort.

Most client achieve their desired results after just one treatment, which continue to improve over the course of the following 8 weeks. However, depending on the area being treated, the skin's laxity, and individual response to treatment, an additional treatment may be required after 6-8 weeks for maximum results.

The results are permanent as they would with cosmetic surgery. Although it does not stop your natural aging process, you will enjoy noticeably healthier, firmer skin for years to come!

The Lotus Room’s signature natural anti-ageing facial that delivers impressive results! The treatment incorporates a spa-like cleanse and tone, Cosmetic Acupuncture and other traditional Chinese beauty techniques such as the use of essential oils, Gua Sha, facial cupping and an organic herbal mask.

What is Cosmetic Acupuncture and what are the benefits?

Cosmetic Acupuncture is a safe, gentle and natural holistic treatment that offers an increasingly popular alternative to more invasive rejuvenating cosmetic procedures. This treatment is now being used extensively by those keen to avoid surgical procedures and has been endorsed by a number of celebrities.

Cosmetic Acupuncture has its roots in Traditional Chinese Medicine, and in many ways, it is similar to any other acupuncture treatment but at the same time it utilises specialist needles and some particular needling techniques to reduce bruising risks and discomfort. It’s been proven to help combat sagging and drooping, soften fine lines and wrinkles, diminish eye bags and dark circles, puffiness and bloating of the face, and improve overall skin tone and complexion. It greatly reduces stress evident in the face, bringing out the beauty within. After a few sessions, eyes brighten, skin feels firmer, lips become plumper and blemishes vanish. The results are amazing!

How does Cosmetic Acupuncture work?

During the session, the muscle groups around the eyes, nose, mouth, jaw and neck are stimulated by the insertion of hair-thin needles into specific points. Cosmetic Acupuncture creates micro-punctures to the skin surface. As a consequence, the repair process releases numerous growth and healing factors that stimulate new collagen to be deposited under wrinkles, thereby filling them in. The stimulation from the needles enhances blood and lymph flow to the face, both of which can reduce the appearance of bags, lines and wrinkles and give the facial skin a healthy glow.

From TCM point of view, the needles activate energy in the energy channels (meridians) passing over those points addressing any “energy blockages” thus sending messages to the brain to “wake up” the muscles which effectively get lazier as we get older. The underlying objective of this treatment is designed to improve the function of organs and balance their relationship with each other through the stimulation of corresponding points of the face in order to improve circulation of blood and body fluids, absorption of nutrients and excretion of waste thereby positively influencing the appearance of facial skin. The treatment addresses systemic issues, such as anxiety, poor digestion, hormonal imbalance, reduced hydration and poor sleep – that may be responsible for premature ageing and often manifest themselves in the face. Therefore, the treatment is not just cosmetic - it facilitates the body’s natural balance restoring mechanism, helping achieve overall health and well-being.

What to expect during the session?

The needles will be left in place for approx. 30 minutes while you unwind and relax. Once the needles have been removed a variety of other traditional techniques will be used such as the use of essential oils, Gua Sha, facial cupping and a herbal mask to compliment the treatment.

Does Cosmetic Acupuncture hurt?

No, it doesn’t hurt. The needles used in the face are as little as 0.12 of millimetre – that’s finer than half of your hair strand! The majority of clients do not fee a thing however it is not unusual to feel a tiny and very quick prick as the needle is first inserted into your skin. Many clients actually comment on how relaxing the treatment is. It may seem unlikely that acupuncture treatment is relaxing, but the truth is that acupuncture increases the release of endorphins, those feel-good chemicals in your brain that make you feel mellow, rested, and less stressed!

How many sessions do I need?

A course of 6-8 treatments is recommended. Most clients notice a difference after one or two treatments, however, the effects become most noticeable and lasting after a course of treatments. Each person responds differently, depending on the condition of their skin and lifestyle prior to treatment. Following the initial course of treatments, maintenance treatments of once a month can prolong the results for five to ten years.

Am I suitable for Cosmetic Acupuncture?

Cosmetic Acupuncture is not suitable if you:

  • Are diabetic
  • Have heart conditions including poorly controlled high blood pressure
  • Have a blood clotting disorder
  • Are prone to bruising
  • Are diagnosed as being HIV positive or having developed AIDS
  • Have previously had hepatitis
  • Have an acute herpes outbreak
  • Are pregnant
  • Have a migraine/severe headache

If you have had wrinkle relaxing injections, it’s best to avoid injected areas for 3 months. This is because it may counteract the effect of injections. Acupuncture can still target other areas of the face that are free from injections.
